What should my follicle size(s) be for an IUI?

For all you experienced IUI'ers out there, what is the ideal follicle size for an IUI? I just had an ultrasound and they measured 4 follicles. Two were at 10, One was at 13 and one was at 15. Based on this, my dr scheduled my IUI for Friday but he wants to see me again on wed.

I am pretty new to this so am by no means an expert....

My RE has me take an HCG trigger shot once my largest follicle reaches 18mm.  Then the IUI is 36 hours after the trigger shot.  I think they said that the follicles should grow about 1-2mm a day so yours should be big enough by Friday.

Unmedicated 20-24mm, Clomid 20-24mm, FSH-only meds 17 or 18mm minimum, and FSH+LH would be 16 or 17mm minimum. It is possible for slightly smaller follicles, 14-15mm, to contain a viable egg. Also, follicles continue to grow until they release, usually at a rate of about 1-2 mm per day.  So I agree, by Friday you should be looking good!

Thanks for the info. I took 50mgs of clomid 2 times a day from day 3-7 so hopefully my egg sizes will increase by friday. The dr mentioned i will do my trigger shot on wed and procedure on Fri. i hope to have at least 2 follicles - not sure if those ones that measured a 10 are going to be big enough by friday.

In my last IUI cycle (last month) on day 10 of shots I had 2 follies size 10. Then by day 12 they were (miraculously) almost 18!!
So miracles do happen, and defy what should happen scientifically... it could well be that more of your follies get big. At least the biggest ones will. And my doc said that the lowest follicle size for fertilisation can be as low as 12. Take care and think positive. Sending you tons of SSBD...

Thanks for all the info! i just got back from my RE and my sizes are now 20, 17, 12 and 12. My dr gave me a shot of follistism to help the 12's along. My IUI is still scheduled for friday.  My uterus lining is at a 6 and the dr says it should be over 6 so he put me on estrogen. i really hope all of this works!!!! lots of sticky baby dust for all of us!!!
