What size is a mature follicle & how fast do they grow??

So today I had my CD 12 u/s and I had 3 follicles that measured 18-19 and then I had approx 3 more
that measured 15 and then she said a bunch that were between 13-14... So my RE said definately the 3 large ones were ready to go and then a lot of "maybes".... So tonight I give myself the trigger shot @ 11p and IUI on Sunday at 11am. Soooo my question is what size does the follicle have to be to release an egg? And how much will they grow by Sunday?? I'm not too worried about high multiples because of DH low sperm count... Just the more eggs I release a better chance of a BFP!!!

anything over 10-12 are good enough. The bigger ther better obviously but I was able to get a trigger with ONE size 14 follicle and am now 22 weeks pregnant.

I had more on my left side than my right.. I think with meds it might be different cause my RE said something like sometimes even ALL the "maybe" follicles and the "mature" follicles release an egg & that's where you end up with multiples! But she's not too worried in my situation because oh DH!

Yep, it's definitely different on meds.  Only naturally do they ovulate from only one side.

With fertility meds it is different.

I'm pretty certain thats how it is.  I've read that every now n then your ovaries will release from both sides, but thats not common. Maybe on fertility meds it's different.
Anyone know for certain?  Too lazy to google it!!!! lol

Well, Im SURE the 3 big ones for sue, by the time you O they should be between 20-22 ;)
Then the 3 @ 15 will be between 16-18n which is GOOD!  & the tiny lil guys can also grow to around 15 ishhhhhhh
SOOOOOO you SHOULD have between 3-8 follies go!  BUT what side are they on?  cuz only one side will release them.
good luck!  Did you guys bd this week at all?  You should have Thursday, & if DH has low SC then hold off for the IUI  I bet you O late Saturday to mid day Sunday ;)
