Here is what has been done on my previous cycles:
Day 5 Ultrasound for follicle study - start 100 mg of Clomid for 5 days & wear estrogen patch
Day 12 Ultrasound for follicle study - if follicles were mature enough - I would do an ovidrel (trigger) shot & then have timed intercourse 24-36 hours later
About a week after that - they would have me come in for blood work to make sure I did in fact ovulate
That may not answer all of your questions, but I figured it couldn't hurt!
Those are all blood tests.
Your FSH is usally taken on CD 3.
Your Progesterone is taken 7 days after ovulation (CD 21 if you ovulate on CD 14). Anything over 5 means ovulation - on a medicated cycle they like to see over 10.
Your estradiol is taken several times throughout your cycle. They are making sure that the ultrasound is correct by testing what your ovaries are producing. It is very unlikely that they will do this with you just on clomid. This is usually done when you are on injectables to prevent OHSS.
