What to do after transfer

HI there,

My partner and I are in the process of our first ivf.  We transferred 2 embryo's today.  Doc said they couldn't get any better.  We've tried 3 IUI's prior to this. 7 eggs were retrieved in total, five fertilized, 3 were great quality with the other two doing well...but a little slow.  We are a bit concerned that we may only have one to freeze so we wont this first try to be successful....as I am sure everyone does.  We were told by our clinic to take it easy for the next two weeks but not really sure what that means.  I've bee reading that some go on bed rest while others continue on their day to day lives as normal.  Just wanted to know what other people did or are doing.  We are pretty active so we would like to do things, however don't want to jeopardize anything.  Also want to keep busy as we are not sure how we are going to get through the next two weeks :)  Any thoughts/stories/advice others may have would be appreciated
THanks

After my transfer I was told strict bed rest, bathroom visits only, for the first 24 hours and then the following 2 days limit activities to shower and meals only.  I added an extra day of rest just to be sure.  Take it easy and do what the doc tells you!  Happy sticking!

Dr told me for 3days (day of transfer and an additional 2days). i know it's hard but it's advised. Of course there are women that didn't do bed rest and it still worked. The first day strict bedrest - only getting up to go to the bathroom. When you get up don't use your stomach muscles. roll to side and use your elbow. 2nd and 3rd day modified bed rest. Can sit up for meals but try to lay on the bed or couch as much as possible etc. I tried to adhere to this as best i could and then once those 3 days were up, i went back to doing everything except no heavy exercise. i got my bfp 5 days after a 5 day transfer.

good luck!

I transferred on 6/5. I was on strict bed rest the first 48 hours then was told to limit activities for the next few days. No running, no stairs, no lifting. After that, life as usual. A friend with a different doc was told stay rest the first day then do whatever after that. Guess it depends on the doc. I'm sure my 3 full days of rest weren't entirely necessary but I wasn't taking any chances... and am being overly cautious anyway in hopes of finally getting that BFP.  Not sure how helpful that was.

Good luck to you. The waiting is definitely hard.
