What to expect???

Hi Ladies,

I just started my period... FINALLY!!! So I am gearing up to do Follistim this cycle with IUI.  I just called the Dr. office, and they said I needed to come in day 1, 2, or 3 to get the screnning scan.  Is this similar to the follicle check?

Then, I have to get bloodwork done tomorrow (Day 2)... is this all normal procedures... just wanted to make sure what to expect.

I think I will be starting the meds on day 3 so things have to be done before then.

OK just looked it up.  They didn't give me a count or anything of what they saw, but I could see them all in there.  There looked like a lot but now I want to know the exact number because it looks like the more there are, the better your chances are they develop into eggs and get you pregnant, I'll keep that in mind!

What is an antral follicle count? They did the scan, said everything looked perfect, no cysts or anything.
I start injections on Friday, and another ultrasound next week Wednesday. I start out on 75IU's of Follistim.

How exciting. Hope this works for you! Yes, as Kricket said they will check the antral follicle count and then have you come back midcycle to check the follies. Good Luck

Yes, the will do a vaginal scan & check FSH & do the antral follicle count.  Good Luck.
