What would you do ?

What would you do ?

I was told today that basically if I don't have ivf now it will be to late for me . My eggs are deteriating very quickly . I can pay in installments for it monthly but don't no how much yet ! I m in the uk , the Nhs waiting list is around 3 years where I am . I m thinking of moving areas to get more chances on the Nhs but I don't no how long the waiting list will be in other areas yet ! My clock is ticking and I'm panicking I don't feel at the age of 35 it should be ticking this fast . Do I get in debt for this ? Do I move areas and take a chance in getting more goes ? I wish I could just wave a magic wand and make all this better :(

Sometimes when the choices get fewer, things that seemed like issues are seen to have just been concerns.  When we got the chance to do IVF, the cost became the last of our issues.  We went into debt to do it and didn't pay it off fully until our son was 2.  Best debt I ever took on, best money I ever spent in my life.

hello there, i started my ivf at the age of 35 but sadly it didnt work out for me, a year on and im trying ivf with a donor egg, i have been very lucky in the fact that i have been funded one cycle on the nhs,i understand the costs , all  i can say is go for it any way means you can, im working hard and saving every penny so i can pay for another round of ivf, im now 36 and i feel time is running out for me, my advice to you can only be what ever you decide hurry up and get things moving as it is a long road any so many things can and do go wrong,i dont want to worry you but i would hate any one to have to go through what i did at the age of 35, i found out i had pof ,it was a shock and something i didnt expect to hear, my amh levels were 0.2 , please just go for it asap , i wish you all  the luck in the world ...

I've had three full runs of IVF (with fresh and frozen donor eggs), and have one child as a result.  Some of my history is on my profile, click on my user name and it should pop up.

Hi sunflower, This is probably the most stressful thing we will ever go through .I'm sorry to hear your first treatment was unsuccessful .Have you thought about moving to another borough to get another chance or 2 ? I am thinking about it myself, but at the moment being i've been told I need to attempt it soon I have no choice but to go private but I really can only do that if I can get a monthly finance deal . I will know more when we go to the appointment a week on monday.I know the cost of basic IVF is just under £3000, thats not including the medication though . Good luck hun I hope you get your next turn soon, We are brave women who are trying our best to have a family and we just have to stay as positive as possible. Your mental state can really effect you .The more I read on here the more I am learning all about it all. Massage and meditation is meant to help .Also acupuncture and other similar therapies are meant to help improve quality of eggs .I don't know lol I just know I need to hurry up !!!

hi  there and thankyou for your reply, yes youre right its the most stressfull thing ive ever put my self through, for the past 18 months it has taken hold of my life even to a point a had to take time off from work, but fingers crossed all  the pain will be worth it one day, well i had a scan yesterday  and every thing looks ok, but my donor hasnt responed well to the drugs, so we both have to stay on them for a few more weeks, i feel very worried and weepy . i guess us ladies have to just go through the emotions,  i think i will give acupuncture ago just to relax me as i havent been sleeping well..  i  would love to move even to the point, my house is up for sale to help cover costs,im not ready to give in just yet.. i really hope you can get your finances ready but be careful the cost can spiral for each and every scan etc..  its times like this i really wish i could win the lottery, ive heard people say money cant by you happiness, but im sure in our case money really can ,  i wish you luck and pleas keep me posted on what happens, ill  keep you posted with my ongoing ivf,  i have some menopur left over from my last cycle , its no use to me now if you find your doctor puts you on them  to save money i can give you what i have left over it is in date  till 2013,   take care and let me know if you want the menopur ..bye for now
