I am seeing an OB/GYN (actually his nurse practioner for my clomid treatments right now. I used to see an RE so I am very familiar with the process, but because his office is so far away, right now I have to see the OB/GYN's office. Honestly, I think I know more about clomid than they do. I took 100mg's this month, and when I asked for the trigger they didnt even know what that was, I had to explain. Anyway, they prescribed the tigger, I now have it here at home waiting to give, she said I would know when to give it better than she would. (I know they are incompetant, but honestly I just need someone to sign the script for clomid because the next closest doc that does it is 150 miles away).
I had an u/s Thursday and had 3 follies: 22, 17, and 14. I have not had my natural LH
surge yet, and I was hoping to give the 17 and 14 mm follies time to grow so that I would have more than the one egg release (we've been trying 16 months so the strategy now is to try releasing 2 eggs so that maybe one will take). It has been 48 hours since that u/s and I am experiencing the typical fullness and heaviness in my ovaries. Do you think I should trigger today, or would it hurt to give them an extra day to grow and mature? I am hoping someone out there knows more about the timing than me....
what day of ur cycle are you on? i have never had to have a trigger shot with clomid before they just let my body do it naturally, but with my ivf stimulated cycles i have my shot when my follicles
surge yet, so I am assuming that my natural O will be later. We had talked about doing the trigger so that I would release 2-3 eggs, increasing the liklihood that one will take. That is our last strategy before injectibles because we ahve been trying with one follie for 16 months.
i think i would do it today or tomorrow. cause going by the trigger should mean u ovulate what like 40hrs after would mean that the little follie has 2 more days to grow mine usually get bigger by 2-4 every 2-3 days, so it should have enough time to mature. did they check ur lining as well? and plus too it has been two days since that u/s so you would expect the 14 to be at least 16 now. if it was me i would trigger today
You will O about 36 hours after the trigger so I would do it today. Note that the trigger itself will help your smaller follies to mature.
I must say that it's very strange you have to guess when to trigger on your own rather than getting a clear instruction from your nurse or clinic.
