Why is my RE not aggressive with meds??? Need help
I am on Gonal-f 150 units and since Thursday night along with Lupron 10 units. I went for blood work today and estradiol level was 80. Doctor asked me to continue with the same dosage and go for blood work on Tuesday. Why is my RE not being aggressive?? Will I get enough eggs?? Has anyone gone through the same protocol and had good number of eggs in the end?
Different people respond very differently to the same protocol. I know ladies who took higher doses of Gonal-F than myself and produced fewer follicles
and some who took lower dosages and produced twice as many. Do not compare your Gonal-F dosage to others. Your doc wants the optimal # of eggs without overstimulation which can lead
I agree with helen72 every woman is different and we all respond differently to medications. It seems that your RE is comfortable with the way your follicles
are developing, having Ultrasounds and blood works gives your RE data to evaluate your progress and how far they can continue increasing or lowering your medications dosages. Is never good comparing yourself to others medication wise, I am pretty sure your eggs are looking well. Perhaps you can ask him how many follicles
Thank you both for your response. I cant explain the anticipation and frustration I am going through. Thank so much for your advice.
One thing I forgot mention was, in my first IVF cycle they started me with 150 units in the morning and 150 in the night and later reduced to 75 both times. May be as you said they don't want me to stimulate more. Last cycle there were many follicles (38 to 40) but resulted in very few eggs. I don't remember the exact number may be like 17,only 12 fertilized .
