Would me becoming an egg donor or serrogate be a good thing??

Hello, this isnt for now but for future i have been thinking about it alot, i read all the time  about all you women who are having trouble concieving and it breaks my heart, i have 2 little boys and am 10 weeks pregnant with my third but i was thinking after i have this baby i want to help other people with there misfortune as i am only 22 and quite healthy and was wondering if couples with fertility problems would be wanting help, so i was thinking of becoming an egg donor or maybe a serrogate?? does anyone think this is a bad idea or would i be helping? please let me know your personal views

Only you can make this personal decision.  Go to a clinic that specializes in this and get some information.  It is very generous of someone to do this for someone.  You just have to get all of your information and see if it is the best choice for you.

Its not for me to say yes or no but I do think you would be a very special person to offer such a gift. I would say if it feels right for you and if you think you could handle the phsycological side of things investigate it because Im sure there would be alot of appreciative couples out there. good luck!€

Thankyou for your feedback, i have been thinking about it for a while and i think when i have this baby (due in july 08) then i will be seriously considering all the options for either one (serrogate or egg donor) once again thankyou for your opinions there much appreciated, good luck to you all x

At the clinic I go to an egg donor is paid $3500 for her trouble.  Of course you have to do it for personal reasons and not for money.  If people did not have the heart to give such a gift no women who have egg problems such as myself would have much hope.  I am trying with my eggs right now but I may go to an egg donor.  My prayer is that if I do, there is a generous girl who has some of my talents and traits.  I would of course love any child but it would be wonderful to think that we were able to find a girl with my eye and hair color so that the baby would have a chance to look like my side of the family.  (My husband and I are exact opposites.)  It is a selfless gift.

We have had two miscarriages and may use an egg donor if I don't conceive soon.  I also have a dear friend who is pregnant with twins conceived using donor eggs after several failed pregnancies.  It is so wonderful for all of us with "problem eggs" to even have this option, so thank you for considering it!  You sound like a very compassionate young woman. :)

BG-MN- I didnt even know that you get paid for donating eggs lol, i suppose its because i havnt looked into it fully yet as i cannot do much till i have had the baby i am carrying at the moment, i certainly wouldnt be doing it for the money,the reason why i am considering is because of stories like ureself and SHP's also, i think how easily i seem to find it to become pregnant and i think of all them eggs that im not using so to speak lol, well im glad you are with me on the thought of doing it, i will deffinelty be considering it very carefully and seriously for the future xx

I am so thankful out there for the egg donor who helped us!  My eggs just weren't viable and we are so glad that there are young women out there that would be so generous to donate their eggs.  We paid $5000.00 to the donor and more to the agency as a finders fee.  There is alot to go through in order to be a donor...medical testing, psychological testing, legal appt.s, and all the injections and medication to take before you donate your eggs, so I'm just giving you a heads up to what to expect from the donor agency....at least one that's certified.   What a wonderful gift you would give!
