YOUNG COUPLE AND HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING AND STAYING PREGNANT

So I am 24 years old and my husband is 23 we are in great health. I have a 6 year old daughter with someone else.  But anyways my husband and I have been trying to have a baby of our own for 5 years. We got pregnant 4 times but 3 of them ended almost right away and another one ended when I was 14 weeks pregnant... Doctors just started doing some test for us. My FSH levels are normal... I am going in for a HSG TEST on moday and i know it is going to hurt me alot but i want another baby that bad that i will go through pain. My husbands sperm was checked and that too was normal.. We use ovulation test every month.. I dont know why it is so hard for us to get pregnant. Doctors said after they do my HSG That they would put me on CLOMID in June to better my odds of getting pregnant even though i ovulate already.... BUT my question to is What test did you have done???? And if you took CLOMID did you get pregnant???? Please any help will be great... THANKS AGAIN,
MELISSA

If his sperm was normal that he does not have a genetic issue. His labs would have had to come back really low a couple of times before any of my RE would look at my DH's for genetic issues.
I sent you a message on all the genetic issues I have.  I would get tested for the MTHFR.  All you have to do is go on an High Absorbency Folic Acid and B6+B12.  This is prescription, the standard folic acid will not work.  I am on Metanex and a baby asprin.
I agree with some of the other women who have posted it seams like your RE has you doing test that you should not need based on history.  I have gone to 4 different RE before I found one who would do the genetic testing.  There are a lot of bad RE out there.   If you like her that is great but don't be afraid to see others who may skip some of the basic test and go straight for some of the other test that fit your history better.
Good luck!

She wanted to make sure that the uterus was normal... Also that my tubes were open... I am able to get pregnant but i takes a long time... She also said after the test I have a high chance of getting pregnant.. My FSH levels are normal. My 6 year old was a vag delivery.. She got stuck in me though and they had to tug on her head to get her out. But anyways she is by a different guy. I had  her when i was 18.. Now I am married and my doctor seems to think it is something to do with my husband but she wanted to do test on me just to make sure there was not a problem with me. She is thinking we need to get genetic testing. She thinks that there may be a genetic problem for him. Well I will see. We are going in to do this next. And he is going to have a sperm count down and some other test but we will see.. My mom thinks it is just a fluke. I just want another child so bad. And that HsG test felt like i was having labor pains..She is also talking about putting me on CLOMID>>> To increase our chances of having a baby. But i Already ovulate... And she said it would boost our eggs and higher chance for pregnancy.. I just hope I stay pregnant. She said if i get pregnant she is going to put me on Progestrium. My progestrone levels were normal too so i dont know why she would do that but yeah

Glad to hear your tubes open and uterus is normal.  I've had 4 HSG's done, 1st was told my one tube was closed and now they are both open.

We've had full blood check to see what E2 levels and all other TSH etc to be sure all hormones are in line, HSG, 2 laposcopic surgeries, chromosone disorder testing, blood clotting disorder testing, clomid challenge test, endometrial biopsy, ultrasounds twice month to check follicle size and to check endometrial lining thickness and follicle maturity at time of ovulation, thyroid ultrasound, p4 testing at day 21 and hubby has had semen and SCSA testing.

Pretty much full work up as though we were going to do IVF but we are not.  Right now I'm on my first real cycle of clomid about to have a HCG trigger shot and 5 days after that will be on progesterone suppositories.  (fun lol  not....)

I did get pregnant immediately after having my 4th HSG done and it was the longest I was able to carry one before miscarrying again.

Good luck.

Melissa - why are you getting an HSG done if you clearly can get pregnant?  Seems you have no problem getting pregnant - it's staying pregnant that is the issue and being so young, I doubt it's egg quality issues. Did they do an u/s of your uterus at all?  Did they test your thyroid? Also - you should get antibodies checked as well...
Did you have an c section with your 6 yr old?

Hi. I had an HSG done years ago and it wasn't very painful for me, just some cramping afterwards. I took Clomid and did get pregnant. I delivered my baby girl a week ago. I wish you lots of luck and baby dust!
