Your numbers are great!  As someone else mentioned, I also believe they tapper off after a while, and at the same time, become a less reliable measure.  Overall, your numbers look excellent.  You should be thrilled--I am thrilled for you:)

I had an ultrasound today. Last hcg was 1,996. I'm almost five weeks. I asked when they would draw another hcg and they said they didn't need to. She said they only monitor ultrasounds once hcg reaches 1500 because ultrasounds are more reliable. Your numbers look great!

From what I've read, once you are able to start having ultrasounds, those are much more reliable and telling than HCG numbers.  So if you ultrasound looks good, I'm sure everything is fine.

My dr never tested my hcg levels after 5wk2d, so I can't tell you what mine were doing at this stage but i have read that they double up to certain point and then they slow down.  Here is pretty good link.  It basically says it should double ever 48-72 hours and as your pg progresses it will slow down to every 96 hours before it levels off and then starts to decline.

How far along on you now?  I'll put on the Baby log. We post it every monday in the over 35 pg forum.

Other than freaking yourself out, how are you doing?  Enjoying being pg!?!?! (silly question) Have you told your dd yet or are you gonna wait.
