after embryo transfer what should one do

I have two questions. one : after embryo transfer the doctor keeps you on bed rest for two hours in the hospital / clinic , so that embryo has ample time to attach itself to the uterus. they do the procedure on full blader. after the procedure , is it ok to empty the bladder in a bed pan. my doctor said it was ok. where as i met someone and she told me to holding it till two hours is better. is that true.
secondly: after the embryo transfer , after two hours doctor discharged us. we stopped at a near by place to grab a bite. and then went back home to rest . the next day i was roaming around the house and even went out to a friends place as doctor told us to carry on with usual routein except for no excercise and straneous work. where as the same some one that i met told me that i should have rested for two days for sure and after that also i should have taken it easy is that true.
My IVF cycle failed and i am feeling responsible for it. please help.

You did not do anything wrong.  Your day sounded like my unsuccessful IVF's.  Even though I hate it when the dr. says this it is true that we don't know why the embryos don't implant......it is so frustrating and it is hard not to criticize everything you did  but don't beat yourself up or place blame on yourself, that doesn't do any good.

I am so sorry you went through this and I am sending you positive energy.  Hang in there, I know it completely ***** and is so unfair.
Your in my thoughts!

You didn't do anything wrong...  My RE has us stay laying for 15mins after the transfer, and then we go to the bathroom to drain our bladder then lay back down for another 15 mins and the are released to go home.  My RE has us rest for 24 hours and then it is back to normal life.

There are several reasons it might not have worked, but you are not the cause of any of them.

May God ease your pain...

P/S my first IVF failed as well and I looked hard for all the reasons I thought it failed.
