One bit of advice given to me by the pharmacist was to take it just before bed.  That way you know you are taking it more or less at the same time every day, and the pharmacist said that if i was going to experience any side effects, they would happen while I was asleep.  I guess he was right - the only thing I had was a slight headache and on the first cycle I had some mild mood swings ( i was on 5 mg CD3-7) Other than that, I was just fine.

I had tons of yucky side effects on clomid including thin uterine lining, headaches and HORRIBLE O pains.

Good luck!

I took Femera for 6 cycles and never had much in side effects.  My doc prefers it over Clomid because of the side effects.  I also get terrible hormonal headaches and he said they would have been 10x worse on Clomid.  I didn't get any with the Femera.  I was getting 1 to 2 follies with each cycle.

Good luck!

I agree with texasangel. I've used it too, with no major side effects, and would normally have 2 mature follicles each time. But I'm a little confused...your doctor gave you a prescription for femara, yet he didn't tell you what dosage to take or when to take it?

Femara works mostly the same as clomid - however, femara doesn't thin your uterine lining like clomid does giving an embryo a good chance to be able to implant.  Typically Femara has less side effects and is tolerated better.  As far as dosage..you'll need to talk to your doc about that.  Chances are they will start you on the lowest dose just like clomid and go from there.  Most docs want you to take clomis CD 3 - 7, but some say 5 - 9.  I've read taking them 3 - 7 will give you more follicles but not as mature, and 5 - 9 less follicles but very mature.  I for one, only get one follicle whichever time I take it.  Good luck.
