I'm taking 81mg. Bayer ($4.99) once a day along with a prenatal vit.  This is supposed to increase blood flow to the ovaries and uterus.  I, too, am starting my first cycle of IVF.   I can't believe how much there is to do in preparation for the whole thing!  Wow!  So many shots!!!!

ok thanks... i was alittle confused only because i read the dosage and it said 4 to 8 tablets every four hours while symptoms last, and yesterday was my first injection, i took 4 at once like an idiot, then i realized each pill is 81mg... but i'm not worried about it. i think i'll be fine, i'll just keep taking 1 a day... thanks so much for the info!

Yes...just one 81mg baby aspirin a day.  You can find them anywhere...Walmart, Target...and they're just like $1.  They didnt think that I had the clotting disorder but wasnt sure why I had two miscarriages..so it was one of those safety precautions..the aspirin dosage is so small that it cant really hurt you at all...but dont start taking regular aspirin or anything like that!!
.I will probably continue it throughout my pregnancy if my doctor wants me to.

Very good info Shayla! To ladies who have clotting disorders, please check w/dr b4 taking especially. If you already don't clot, the asprin will only make it worse. While is safe for many, there are always exceptions.

Very well said Shayla1 !!  My RE put me on baby asprin too when I 1st started the IVF process even when taking the BC pills.  I took 81mg all the way until the very end and stopped when I found out IVF failed.. He wanted me to take throughout pregnancy if I were preggers... Anyway, I read good things about taking it and my RE is one of the best so I trust his judgement.  The pills he had me on were Prenatal, baby asprin and calcium.  I have since stopped the baby asprin per his instructions but will begin again when we start round 2!!

Hi,
I was the one that wrote all of that.  Actually I had been reading up on the positives on taking baby aspirin so I asked my doctor if I could take it.  She told me yes and so I started on day 1 of injectables.  It's also supposed to help prevent certain types of miscarriages by thinning the blood just enough to avoid blood clots around the placenta which leads to about 20% of all known miscarriages.

Here's what I found...and I found this same info on several different sites.  What i can say is when I took the baby apirin I increased my mature follicle count to 6 (in the past the MOST I could make was 3) and my lining was the thickest it ever was...11 the day of the trigger shot.

Aspirin Studies
Recently, a number of different studies have been performed on the use of aspirin to increase fertility. Women who had experienced multiple miscarriages and who were undergoing IVF or IUI treatment were given low doses of aspirin daily. Subsequent pregnancy rates were then compared to pregnancy rates produced by women who received no aspirin therapy. Surpisingly, more than 45% of those women taking aspirin during treatment became pregnant, while only 28% of those women not taking aspirin were able to conceive.

Recent aspirin studies also show that aspirin may be helpful in increasing pregnancy rates in all women. Aspirin appears to increase the activity of the ovaries, allowing them to release multiple eggs during ovulation. It also appears to increase blood flow to the uterus, allowing for a thicker and healthier uterine lining.

Just this last cycle my RE told me to take baby asprin to help thicken my endometrium.  I got the feeling from him that these are not proven methods, but there has been some research that found bennefits to taking baby asprin for increased blood flow.

I'm not on injectables tho.  Only hcg trigger shot but that is it.  I don't know what the effects of baby asp and injectables would be.  You might call your dr and ask him if it is okay.

Good luck to you.
