beta count

Has anyone had a high beta count and still had a neg second beta??? Just had my beta today (208) and I go back on Saturday for my second. I am soooo nervous.

It certainly is possible.  I would not even discuss it because that is the last thing you or anyone would want.

Mine went from 84  to 154.  I have my u/s on wednesday.

I am right there with you I went on Wednesday and my level was 251!  I go back on Monday for my 2nd one and I am so afraid its gonna be bad!  But I am trying to stay positive and hope for the best.

Ok so help me out, I've never gotten this far in cycles. So Wed. was your first beta test, then Friday was your 2nd and on Wed. They told you that you wee def. pregnant? When I had my beta done on Thurs. the nurse called and said that the number was great but I should be cautiously optimistic. She scared the heck out of me. She didn't say that I was def pregnant so I am scarred.

She is telling you to be Cautiously Optimistic because even though we are confirmed pregnant.  It is not considered a real "succesful" pregnancy until they hear the heartbeat.  That is usually at 6 or 7 weeks.
My office gives beta #1 but won't tell you the #.  My 2nd Beta was on wednesday for which I got the 84.  I then went again today (Fri)  I guess they wanted to check my #'s?? I got a 154 so now the U/S was scheduled for 12/23
I am not sure what they look for though??? I guess the sack & yolk maybe??

Hey nicolebfats,, I feel the same way  you feel .I had my first test and it was 440 and my second test is 12/27 tomorrow. I'm so scared, I've been having light cramping

OMG! 440 that is great. I wouldn't worry to much. My first beta was 208 and I took my second beta 2 days later and it was like 650 or something like that. The nurse said that, those are great numbers but they cannot determine how many babies just by the numbers. but I was told that if your beta was over 50 then chances are you are pregnant. 440!!! yeah, I think it may be safe to say that you are preggers. lol. as long as your numbers increase I don't thing you have much to worry about. I go in tomorrow for my first u/s. so nervous yet so excited. cant wait. good luck with everything. keep me posted

Hey nicole do you have any cramping? you made me feel better I'll stop worrying. If I could only go to sleep I could wake up just in time to go to the test. That will limit the worring time LOL.
I am so happy that you're going to get your u/s 2morrow that has got to be so exciting. I know it doesn't matter but twins would be twice the fun yipppppeeee

Hey Donna. My u/s went great, the dr said that so far there's two healthy yokey sacks. I'm sooo excited yet so nervous. I have to go back for my second u/s next Monday. I'm so anxious. How about yo???

nicolebfats - Congratulations!!  That is great Twins!!!  Did the dr give you an estimated due date or anything yet?  How are you feeling?

Kricket212 - how are you feeling? You had your first u/s when do you go for your 2nd?

As for me I got my BFP on 12/16 levels were 251 12dpiui then I went for 2nd BETA on 12/21 and levels were 1416 - I go tomorrow for my 1st ultrasound and more bloodwork..

Hi Ebony. Dr saw two yokey sacks so it appears to be twins. But they said it's still kinda early. Hopefully there's not one hiding. But yes I still have a little cramping once in a while, dr said that my ovaries are still kinda big from the meds and that my uterus is starting to expand. So that's probably what ur experiencing. Especially if ur preggers with multiples. I've even been feeling like i've pulled muscles in my lower abdomine when I stretch.  they said that that is normal. But let me know how everything goes. Kramik. Congrats. Those numbers are great. Most likely multiples. I'm feeling extremely tired all the time. This weekend I slept for hours at a time and that's all I did. How about you? Are u really tired? How many did u transfer? I transfered back three great embies.

I am also feeling tired - a little nauseous here and there - I didn't do IVF I have been doing IUI - I did 4 with clomid that were unsuccessful and this time I did injectable meds and IUI and it worked.

Kramik. Wow. How exciting. Lucky for u that the iui worked. I tried one cycle and that didn't work. Re said that I have a tough cervix so it's difficult for anything to get in. Lol. This is my second ivf cycle. My due date is suppose to be aug 23. It's funny cause my fathers bday is aug 24. And my brothers is aug 22. How about you ?

Congrats!!!  How exciting!  I am waiting for u/s here (while listening to #3 and #4 have at each other in the living room!).  We originally thought iui, but then went for ivf w/ pgd for boys.

It very well may be but Dr said that u can't always go by the beta. U need to see what happens when you have ur u/s. I personally think ur having multiples with those numbers. Definitely keep me posted. Good luckk with everything
