blood work and ultra sound

i have noticed most people on this board seeing an RE always have their blood work results and numbers...just curious what should i be asking and checking for. what hormones and what levels? the RE nurses never call me with the results....even if they did i wouldnt know what to ask...i feel like i am in the dark! also what questions should i ask when getting an u/s too?

well i guess your estradiol level should be 200-400 per MATURE follicle.  So as long as the level is rising that is the important part.  Also your follicles should grow 2 mm per day at least while taking injectables.  Mine were only growing 1 mm per day but then at the end they ended up growing 2 per day.  So I ask while they are doing the ultrasound how big they are. Otherwise I dont think they would just automatically tell me.  And then for the estradiol level, I always have to ask they have never just told me.  HTH :)

During the u/s, my RE always measured my ovaries and checked for fluid (not sure what the fluid is about, never had any), measured and counted the follicles and measure the thickness of my lining.  During the blood work he many have tested for other things, but the only thing I remember him testing for was progesterone during the evaluation phase and early pregnancy and HCG for pregnancy test.  During my IUI cycles when I used hcg trigger shot, he never had me come back in until my missed period.
