brown discharge

A few questions:

1. Is brown discharge after your period something to be ALARMED about?  I finished what I would call my "normal" period (5 days long) 2 days ago, but the past 2 days I've had very little, but noticeable brown discharge.   This has not been noticed in past cycles....maybe on the 5th day, or once in a while the 6th, but not all the way through to the 7th.

2. Regardless, do you COUNT the "brown discharge" days as "period days", or no?  I'm going to start trying to conceive in a month or so and am trying to be "in tune" with my body and figure out when I ovulate etc. so I'm trying to figure out my cycle length, ovulation dates, etc.  I didn't know if I should count these past 2 days as "period days" or not?

Thanks!

Hey, no the brown spotting is not your period, it's usually old blood, if it only lasts a couple days I wouldn't worry but if it continues just have a check up, but I have lots of spotting before my period and it's a pIn, I have had u/s and paps and everything is normal, so it's probably nothing :-)
