Who has prescribed the Clomid and Metformin for you or have you bought it?

If you are going to take this without it being prescribed you need to be very careful as over stimulation can occur which will then cause you problems in the long run. When docs prescribe these theres a very strict testing that has to be done to prevent over stimulation.

If i was you what i would be doing is going to see my GP and asking to be referred to a sub fertility doctor so you can discuss your options as youve now been trying a year you should be entitiled to this (( dependant where you live ))

Clomid is not and should not be taken lightly it can cause serious side effects- What you could do is see your GP and discuss this to see if they will prescribe them for you and if not if you do buy them yourself will they monitor you.

Have you tried carting your CP & CM and doing your temps? Most docs will ask you to do this before offering any type of treatment and or investigation.

Best of luck and lots of baby dust your way

To me considering all the tests you and your spouse have gone through and everything checks out okay I find it odd that you have been prescribed these medications. If you are ovulating then there is no need for clomid bc it is used to regulate ovulation...since you ovulate regularly this could cause you to release more eggs that could potentially be fertilized resulting in multiple pregnancy. Also metformin is given to people that have poly cystic ovarian syndrome where they produce cysts on their ovaries and it has something to do with how insulin is utilized in the body. The reason I question you taking these medication is bc you have neither of these conditions. Now the fact that you have been trying to conceive for a year now and nothing has happened is concerning. Something else must be going on and you may want to see a specialist. Have you tried tracking your ovulation making sure you are intimate during this time? So many things can contribute to not being able to conceive so again I would suggest seeing someone who specializes in this area. Best wishes BB

Given that you've had prior testing and have been TTC for at least 12 months, I'd encourage your doctor to provide a referral to an RE.  Clomid is usually prescribed when a woman needs to regulate her cycles and ovulation.  Metformin is usually prescribed to women with PCOS.  Clomid and metformin may not be your answer either.  An RE will have a whole line-up of diagnostic tests to really narrow the field of possible problems for both you and your partner.  You may not need fertility drugs that stimulate ovulation, but rather those that support or block production of certain hormones.  Good luck!!
