i was expecting to start my injectable drug regimen this month but when i went for my baseline tests my doc found a cyst on my left ovary. She said it was fairly common with taking the clomid, but that was never told to me as a side effect. i am a little apprehensive and nervous whether this cyst will just "go away" as the doc has said it will. i am becoming very anxious and really hate being stuck in this helpless holding pattern. any encouraging words???

I don't mind the injections. The more I do it the easier it gets. Don't forget to leave the needle in for about 5 seconds after the medication is injected to make sure that the full dose is out of the pen. I sometimes feel a little sting from the medication but its not too bad, especially if I let it sit to room temp. I only do the injections from day 7-11 but thats because I take clomid from day 3-7. Good Luck to you!

I will be going in this Friday as well to hopefully get started on injectables.  From what I have heard, they do a blood test on day 3 to check where your estrogen levels are at.  Then, they have you start the injectables, in the abdomen for 5-10 days, depending on how you respond to them.
Ultrasound checks every few days to see how you are progressing.  If you have had an ovidrel shot, I am assuming it feels like that, as the needle is really tiny.
Let me know what you find out, and we can compare.
I'm really nervous too, as my hubby works out of town so I think I will be doing these things on my own... yikes!!

I did injectables a few times..depending on how many meds your on and what kind will determine where you get the injection...this last round of injections I had 2 in my belly and 1 in the hip/butt area..once a day starting on day 3 of my cycle for about 10days ...on day 4 went in for U/S then went about every 2 to 3 days for ultrasound to check for follie growth...
The needles for the belly shots are small and didnt hurt much except when DH hit a capilary and i had a nasty bump and bruise...he gives me my shots..im to chicken which is strange cause I used to be a phlebotomist..dont have probs sticking other people but cant stick myself...
The needle in the hip/butt area was like 2 1/2 inches long and didnt hurt going in cause i iced my butt..but the muscle pain the next day stunk..after a while it was hard to lean back when I sat down...after all these injections I had IUI and after the IUI I had to do progestrone injections in the hip/butt area for 2wks..so i was on injections for quiet some time...it doesnt hurt to ask your doc about injections..I know every clinic has different protocols..
Good Luck!

Ok injectables FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) are injected either into your thigh or abdomen which is where most inject, this is done once a day with the dose set by the doctor, you will then have a u/s at day 11 to see how you are responding to the stims and whether the dosage needs to be adjusted and then either they wait for a natural ovulation to occur or trigger shot you with ovidriel when the follicles are big enough to mature and release the eggs. then you either have intercourse 24-36 hrs after or an IUI. good luck hope i helped a little.

P.S the injections don't hurt maybe a little sting but only if the meds are at room tempreture before injecting
