can you O without a opk?

Hey there all i hope you had a wonderful new years, my Q id can you Ovulate without getting a positive OPK I am using Fertility Friend to chart my cycle and i have not yet had a + and am wondering if i am not Ovulating since i have gotten no EWCM and not detectible LH surge. Any advice would be helpful  ~Amanda

(according to my chart i was supposed to O on cycle day 6 bacause of a short cycle last month like 22 days. it is now cd 10 and still no surge thanks)

I'm in the same boat, I posted below you,
I cant get a OPK to read 2 lines, at all!
but I do get Watery CM,
Who knows, they said some girls only have an hour long surge so maybe we are the 10% that dont have a few day surge.

I usually don't detect a LH surge until day 15 or 16.  You may not have ovulated yet.

It's also possible that you O later than you think you do. This happened to me this month. I thought I was going to O around day 15 or 16 and I didn't O until day 21 -- much later than usual. Are you charting your temperatures, too? If so this should be a good indicator of when you actually O.

You can't predict when you will ovulate this cycle based upon your last cycle. Although your last cycle was short, what were the 2-3 cycles like before it (for example, if you had a cycle that was 22 days, 28 days, and 30 days, your ovulation date would have varied drastically between these cycles). According to fertility friend, you are supposed to take your SHORTEST cycle to determine when to start testing for ovulation; however, fertility friend can't guarantee when you will ovulate. I never ovulated until cycle day 14-17 because my cycles tended to be around the 30 day mark the majority of the time.

Although some women do not test positive on OPK because their LH surge is short, they still usually have a change in cm or other bodily changes (i.e. ovulation cramping, etc.) around ovulation.

Don't stress out that you missed your ovulation this month ... more than likely you simply haven't ovulated yet. Best wishes!!!
