cant feel cervical opening

Im ttc but cant feel my cervical opening in order to check firmness or mucus. I can feel my cervix but it feels like the opening may be  toward the back.is this normal? Can this affect me getting pregnant. Oh my period just ended 9/4. Have some questions.Any answers would be appreciated.Thanks.

I can rarely tell if is open or closed. I can feel the "dimple" ( I think the correct word is os) but that's about it. The firmness will vary throughout the day as well as position so you want to check it at the same time every day. A squatting position may make it more reachable. The location of the opening can shift as the cervix moves, too. When mine is really high it seems like the opening is more to the side. Mucous should be present in the vagina all the time, with the eggwhite or slippery kind nearest to ovulation. I hope I helped more than confused :)
