cd9 ultrasound, is this cycle a bust??

ok, so i went in for my cd9 ultrasound today - i'm on follistim and femara (had mc 6 weeks ago) i was afraid since we just had the mc that things might be a little out of whack, so i didn' t have too much hope for this cycle ( thats what i was trying to tell myself so i woudlnt' get my hopes up anyways!)  
   went in for my ultrasound and my bad side (left ovary) is of course not producing any follies, my right side had one at 21mm and then three at 13-14 and then six or so around 11...AND my lining was thin at 6.5!   UGH! just so disappointed! I normally have good lining, always wandered if maybe it was too thick at times.. but then the cycle we got preg it was 7.8 or so at this time in the month... has anyone ever heard of the follies and lining being like this then having success? should we just cancel the cycle? Any help is greatly appreciated thank you!

Hi bny! Are you still taking follistim? I'm not sure about this, but I think I've read that as long as you are on the meds, you won't ovulate...so maybe, your doctor can keep maturing the smaller once for a few more days. That would also allow your lining to thicken up a bit more. What did your doctor say?

thanks heather! they said take one more injection tonight of the follistim and then we will ultrasound tomorrow morning to check and probably trigger, they dont' want that big one to get much bigger and turn into a cyst : (    that means by the time i O that one will already be around 25 or more.. ugh... so it probably won't O in the past my big ones don't : (    also in the past mine under 18 dont' O either.. i'm still going to go through it all and everything, but defintely not looking very good, yet again! does the follistim thin the lining?? this was my first AF since the mc and didnt' feel like it was very heavy!

I'm not sure about follistim, but I do think the D&C can thin your lining. But that's only temporary, so if worse comes to worse, it should be back to normal next month...but I wouldn't give up on this cycle just yet! Even if the one is too big to ovulate, by triggering tomorrow, your three smaller once should be about 18-19 by the time you ovulate. And seeing as you're on follistim this month, it might be different than in previous cycles, where the bigger and smaller follies didn't rupture. Best of luck, bny! I'm rooting for 'ya!

well went into my ultrasound today and to my shock the little follies have grown more have appeared and the bigger one is growing slow!  so i only have one working ovary, but i have folies that are22, 16.6, 16, 14, 14, and two 11 or 12's ... so i have more follies that are measurable than i did on my bfp cycle.. so they told me to come home and immediately take more follistim.. i only had 15iu left  (they said take the rest but keep it under 75iu) so i used my old one (from may - they said it wont hurt but probably wont help) anyone ever done this? it has been at room temp for a while!   and then i'll trigger tonight and IUI friday mornining in hopes that i will at least have 3 follies in the running by that point! any thoughts?? think those will catch up and rupture eggs?? Thank you for any thoughts! : )

Oh yea, and my lining was better today from 6.5 to 7.7, so thats better at least!

you are way ahead of me BNY807!!!  When I was prego in June, I had 3 follies, all over 25.  I think one was a cyst but the others fertilized with my twins I just lost.  Best of luck to you, remember you have increased fertility right after a m/c, just feel blessed you can at least start trying again, I don't know if I will be able to for a long time.

aw thank yall so much! babyhope: i'm so sorry!!!  i wish you could be ttc now again too! i gotta say getting back into it has been tough though.. i wished we could have taken more time off, but my endo doesnt' allow us that option : (     keep me updated! how are you feeling??

Yay! That's great new, bny!!! And by not triggering until tonight, your follies have an extra 12 hours to mature too! Your two at around 16 should be between 19 and 20 mm by then, and who knows, maybe the two at 14 will mature a bit faster after the trigger too!!!
