I am going to be doing a clomid challenge test and have questions. They gave me 50 mg ones and I am to take two a day, do I need to take them together or one in am and one in pm
? and do I need to take on empty or full stomach? sorry so many questions...still more..:)
Can anyone tell me what their restuls (levels) where from the clomid test? What is good and what is not so good?
My FSH is 8.6 and they are worried I may be premenapausal.
Thanks for all your help :)
Day 3 FSH fertility test is not the only parameter used to assess ovarian reserve. Poor ovarian reserve is indicated by an FSH of >9, a high FSH/LH ratio (>2.5) even in the presence of a normal FSH or a high E2 level (>60 pg./ml). We also use the clomiphene citrate challenge test to help determine ovarian reserve

How come some sites say anything over 12 is high and this site says over 9?
Over 20 is NOT hopeless! My FSH shot up to 18 on CD10 of the Clomid Test, not so good. However, this is my 2nd cycle of injectables and I had a great response, 6 good follicles for IUI!!
Age is more of a predictor than FSH. There are plenty of women that have FSH way over 20 and go on to have healthy pregnancies w/ their own eggs.

My Doc said that 9-10 is the red flag, and with mine being 8.6 she is concerned. My LH was 4.8 and my FSH was 8.6, that is a ratio of 2:1 when it should be 1:1. So that is why she is having me do the challenge test. We are in a bad situation to be trying right now, we live with MIL until we sell our house due to job relocation, so right now is not ideal to try, but now I am worried we are going to wait too long and it will be too late :(
