clomid challenge test

Hi! Anyone with any feedback on clomid challenge test. Had one in Sept. FSH day was 7.5 (estradiol 69) on day 3 and FSH was 15.5 on day 10. Not great. RE was fairly aggressive and went with lupron flare and iui's (3 unsuccessful since then). Decided to do Clomid challenge test again. Anyone with not so great numbers with good news?

My RE wants to know if he's wasting his and our time with the injectables and iui's since they don't seem to be working. I tend to agree with you, even if the numbers look better this time, the higher ones are probably the true indicator. Who knows what my RE will recommend next, ivf, or donor eggs.?????? Femara can give you more than one follicle.  If you take a hcg shot to trigger ovulation. They all should release if they are the proper size. Good luck!!!

I am surprised your RE wants you to do CCCT again, I asked my RE about redrawing my FSH just to see and they said that FSH fluctuates and basically it didn't matter if the number came down, the highest number is normally the "true" number is what she told me. But who knows, every Dr. says something different than the last :)
I thought femara only typiclly gives you one good follicle vs clomid where clomid does many?? I hope this cycle I stimulate well again and get a BFP. :) Then it will be on to injectables. My RE seems positive about getting me pg...so we'll see! Good Luck to you :)

Thanks!!

How did you do on femara? did you stimulate and produce any mature follicles. How about repronox (sp) how did you do on that compared to femara? My next step in injectables Gonal-f. Good luck to you too :)

Another question. What was your RE's response on your FSH levels-is he optimistic on being able to get you pregnant?

I did so so on Femara usually 2 or three follies. (I only have one ovary). My RE says "the eggs like the injectables better". I think I tried femara for 2 months and have done injectables with femara. My RE tends to move forward each month if one treatment has not worked. The injectables tend to give you more follies, but some people don't need that much of a push. I'm 36 and because I was born with one ovary my RE thinks I may have the eggs of a 39 yr old. I did end up having 5 follies this month with lupron and repronex. The iui, didn't take. Back to the CCCT again to see if it can give him any more insight. Hope you get lots of follies with the femara!!

Thank you very much for your response. I also took femara..and then to Repronex (injectables) with 3 iui's. Good luck to you. I think I'll post my results, with the next step in treatment, just in case anyone is going through a similiar work up. Good luck to you on Femara!! Less side effects than Clomid and my RE says it works better for a lot of people.

I have about the same numbers you do...8.6 on day 3 and 14 on day 10. My RE feels she can get me pregnant. I am currently taking Femara and then will go to Gonal-F. There are lots of websites with success stories
