anyone in the process of taking clomid to help get preggo. clomid is a pill you take during your cycle and you produce more than one egg at a time. you have high risk of concieving mulitples wit this medicine. the higher the dose the better chance you can have more than one baby. some people get lucy and end up with one like myself. any thoughts?

I don't know if clomid will gives us multiples or not, but when i took clomid this month, i have 2 mature follicles and many little follicles and release 2 eggs. I am in 4DPO right now so it's hard for me to know if I do conceive this month or not.  will know by next weekend.

I agree with you, at this point I would be so glad even if it's 2.
However my RE discussed with me the chances of having more than 2, and her suggestion was fetal reduction.  I can't even think how I would handle this, but due to my small frame she doesn't think it's safe.  
For now we've been ttc for over 2 years, so what ever I get I'll be happy with.

the increased risk of multiples with clomid is like 20%, so I wouldn't consider that high.  I also wouldn't go as far as to say "get lucky and end up with one."

I actually skipped the very first month,  I thought maby I'll be lucky and it would just work.  I started HCG shots with the 2nd cycle of clomid.  My dr just felt that to be on the safe side he'll give me the shot.  But as I now understand my follicles were not that big on clomid, and I only used to get one a month.  So the HCG shot probably wasn't doing much.

Now I do the shot only when my RE sees that follicles are big and ready to ovulate.  This is my second cycle on injectables.

Did you do the shots on your fist cycle with Clomid?
Did you use shots because clomid along was not making you O?

I think the % of multiples using clomid is very little.  I don't recall exactly but it's somewhere around 10%.
Anya1984 - There are also monthly HCG shots that will help you ovulate.  Your dr should be able to see the size of your follicles on u/s and determine when they are mature so that the shot could be taken.  I used it in combination with Clomid.

Hi, did you get pregnant using clomid?
I just have done my first cycle Clomid 50 mg and did not O, so I assume that my doc will put me on Clomid 100 mg next cycle..I did hear, however, that higher the clomid dosage, the better chance to get multiples..
