clomid...early O?????

I did Clomid this month Days 5-9.  I started having CM on Day 7/8...very cloudy.  Then Day 9 arrives.  I had clear CM.  Took OPK and one line was a little fainter than the other.  SO I figured no O.  Took it again this AM on Day 10 and NO line at all.
I am usually a late O'er.  BUT, one of the purposes of going on Clomid this month was to try to O earlier.  How much earlier???  I figured it would not be until Day 13/14...  But, I seem to be having the symptoms of O but the tests are not agreeing.  I will keep testing...but is it possible to O during the days on the Clomid????  EX:  Can one O on days 5-9 or whatever when taking the meds?

I'm on my first round of clomid 50 mg also (days 3-7)
I'm on CD14 today.  I think it's dried my CM so I'm taking Guifenasin pills and Evening Primrose Oil - it's hard to tell if I'm ovulating by CM alone, so I am taking temps every morning so I know AFTER I have ovulated.  We are BDing every 36-48 hrs just to be safe - don't wanna miss the big O!
I did experience some EWCM on day 7 (my last pill day) but I doubt it was ovulation since my temp never went up - but went ahead and BDed just in case.  Good luck - it's such a mystery sometimes!

I read two posts on fertilityfriend.com where they o'd while still taking it. It isn't terribly common, but can happen. It made me o early, too. But it was cd12.

It is hard to say what happened there. Very odd. I just wanted to tell you that I O'd 5 days early with clomid 50mg. So it is possible to o early I guess. I hope that you didn't miss it and I am prayin for ya!

By the way, when I was doing OPKs, I would always get faint red line on the left, but the instructions said, the faint line is still a negative.  It has to be as dark the line on the right or darker.  But I guess, it depends on the brand you used.  I used the Accu Clear brand.  I'll try to use a different kind next time.

Every woman reacts differently with Clomid.  It was also my first time on Clomid 50 mg this month.  You're lucky you have CM...I could not tell with my cervical mucus at all.  Like you, I took Clomid on days 5-9 of my cycle, then I started OPK from days 10 through 16, but they were all negative.  I never had any signs of ovulation...no breast tenderness, no cramps..NADA!  Then just last Sunday, my nipples started to feel tender and last Monday, an ultrasound confirmed that I did ovulate because they found a corpus luteum in my right ovary.  And then guess what?  I got my AF today!!  I myself is puzzled when I actually ovulated because I did not feel any ovulation before July 8...and dear, July 8th was my CD 28 already.  If my AF is here today, then I should have ovulated between June 29 and July 1.  But I did not have any mucus present at that time.

I don't think this answers your questions.  I am not sure if you can ovulate while you are on the pill itself.  From my understanding, you will have to complete the 5 pills for it to work..and maybe it worked for you as soon as you were off of the it.  I will call my doctor for a refill of Clomid on Monday, and this time, it will be 100 mg.  I will also try taking it on days 3-7.  If you are showing a lot of signs of ovulation, then maybe you indeed are ovulating early.  Some women ovulate late on Clomid...some ovulate early.  You just might be one of the women who ovulated early on it.
