coffee during 2ww

How many of you drink/drank coffee during your 2ww?  I've been trying to break it and am approaching another 2ww, but the progesterone supplements make me SOOOO tired!  I figure if I limit it to 1/2 cup coffee per day (that's what I did last cycle) until I at least KNOW I'm pregnant it can't be TOO bad.  Just curious.

Check if during the 2ww you drank:

I gave up coffee after being told by fertility doctor it is not good. The first doctor told me have one caffine a day only so decide if that is coffee, soda etc.
She said it dehydrating and takes your zinc and vitamins which you need. She said the chemicals they use in making coffee decaf are just as bad. I only ever had one cup a day (sometimes 2 ) and when I quit I had withdrawel symptoms for a couple of days and then I was fine.

Tiredness is a killer but coffee is a drug that only perks you up for so many hours. I feel great off it and sleep a lot better and now that I am pregnant I can't bare the smell of it so I think it will be a while before I have my skinny latte again!

Lots of fertility books say in moderation is fine but quite a few say its bad too so I think its up to you..all I can tell you is 6 months ago I wouldn't be able to look at my inbox or do any work until I had my skinny latte and after a week I was totally fine and it didn't bother me. When I missed going into my regular coffee house I went and got a hot chocolate but I had to stop that cause its quite fattening and has a ton of sugar. You can't win :) good luck !

I don't drink much coffee anymore for other reasons, but I do have it once in awhile no matter where I am in my cycle!

Have you tried the 1/2 decaf 1/2 reg blend that they make? Try that and see if it helps...

BTW, you might just want to see if there are better approaches to your fatigue than coffee. I've heard that it's not really the best option, anyway!

Good luck!

I quit both coffee and soda when I started stims for my ivf.  Giving up coffee for 9 months was hard and most books say that in moderation it's OK so you don't have to go cold turkey like I did.  The morning after I delivered Anna I had the best tasting cup of coffee ever!!

I drank one cup a day and still do.  I also did during my last pg.. although at that time, it was often more like half a cup... these days it is a whole cup tho.  I rarely drink sodas.

My OB/GYN told me it was fine to have caffeine in moderation.

Part of me thinks if I was going through IVF, I might stop for the tww BUT the other part of me thinks it would be harder on my body to stop than it would be just to drink the one cup day.  Even tho I don't drink a lot of coffee, I get a really bad head ache if I skip it.

Either way.. good luck to you!! I look forward to comparing pg symptoms with you and complaining about all our pg aches and pains :)
