cough syrup for cm

Does anyone use decongestants (Guiefenesin found in cough syrup & cold meds) to help CM to be a good consistency?  I heard it helps the sperm get through more easily. A friend of mine was TTC for five years and her husband had low motility. She started taking cough syrup and within 6-12 months, got pregnant and miscarried a few weeks in (in Nov.) & now is 5 weeks pregnant again and everything is looking good. I have been TTC for two years and am wondering if I should try it.  Is it safe? I actually took Mucinex for sinus congestion for two days & today I have the egg white, stretchy, CM. That is what made me think of my friends situation.  Any ideas?

You are supposed to use mucinex but the one that ONLY has Guaifenesen--nothing with an antihistamine. I used it and I did get pregnant, but it was a chemical pregnancy--age related, nothing to do with the mucinex.

I have used it (Guaifenesin) and it seems to work pretty well. Also, evening primrose oil and grapefruit juice are supposed to be really good!

Mucinex is fine to use. I am actually using it now for congestion and I have my IUI tomorrow. I have tons of CM right now but probably most if due to my injectable hormones.

Theres a lady on the 18-24 forum that used grape fruit juice and swears by it!!
