could this be a false positive?

Please help - would love your insight here.  First cycle of IVF.  I had retrieval on the Oct 19th after triggering with Lupron on the 17th.  On the 19th received a 1500 IU of HCG.  Now am on day 8 post 5 day transfer.  Tested yesterday with HPT and it was positive, test today was positive too.  Am trying not to get my hopes up because I understand that hcg can linger in your system for several days.  Wish I hadn't used the HPT but I was feeling so down (no pregnancy symptoms beyond sore breasts and some cramping) and just feel totally out of control in this situation.  Now I'm worried that I have a false positive.   But it's been 13 days since the HCG shot and the amount injected wasn't that significant.  My test is this Friday.  Could this be a false positive?

sound like a real positive to me, I have been testing 7-8 days after the trigger shot and it's negative. The trigger shot does not take that long to get out of the systems. Congrats and good luck!

I agree with everyone here. It is truly positive. I tested 8dpt and got faint positive, finally on 11dpt the line was clear. Had my beta today waiting for the result.

sounds like a positive to me!  - I had the same thing - was still testing positive 12 days after my trigger shot - the line finally started getting a little darker on day 13 / 14  - and now I have a BFP!!!   Good luck -  I had cramping as well so don't worry about that :)

I would say positive!  My transfer was 10/27 so I am 5dpt and I tested this morning with a hpt.  It was negative so I know the HCG is out of my system.  I'm just hoping I tested too early for it to be positive.  :o(  This is my second and last attempt...

I think you are safe to say it is a real true positive. I was told 10-12 days but can last up to 14 days in some people. I got my first true positive 11 dp trigger. I think congratulations are in order :) Friday is a long time to wait, good luck to you!
