cramping in 1st trimester

I am 5 weeks pregnant and I have had cramping since I got pregnant by IVF. They were first like a period but have gotten lighter in the last week. They feel like a light period and I get pins and needle like pains. They are not painful but making me a bit nervous. I am also a bit constipated so...

Have anyone else felt like this and still been fine?

I am scared of miscarriage.

Cramping is very normal in the first trimester don't worry I had it and most women do it's just your uterus growing and your baby implanting

Hi

My due date is 30Oct. Wish my scan was sooner but I just have to be patient. I haven;t felt sick yet but my stomach just feels like a rock. My sisters didn't get sick either so maybe I am the same. Hope so.

What did you have last time? 2 boys?

I would love to have twins. My mum is a twin so there is a chance.

My due date is October 31st, and my first scan is Thursday.  My doctor likes to do scans as early as possible to make sure the sac is where it is supposed to be.  I think he'll do one more two weeks from this Thursday and if everything looks okay, he'll hand me off to my OB/GYN.

You know, I said all my cramps are gone and I don't feel so nauseated, and this afternoon I started getting a few cramps and nearly puked on someone. LOL!

Lack of symptoms really means nothing, though.  My last pregnancy, I was pregnant with twins and had almost no symptoms.  No sore bbs, no nausea, no peeing like crazy.  I had a few AF type cramps when I was first preggers, and then a little further along until the end of the pregnancy, but honestly I had very few symptoms.

This pregnancy seems to be QUITE different!  I'm hoping that means it's a girl... and not... quads.  HA!

I feel much better now knowing everyone feels the same.

When is your due date? And when is your first scan?

Mine definitely has been on one side or another from time to time.  My left side is especially tender, but I think it's my ovary all swollen up.

My cramps have gotten a bit better too, nearly gone now, but I assume that's probably because my poor uterus is settling down and getting used to the idea of a baby in there.  Yesterday I didn't cramp much until the afternoon, and then got some low AF type cramps for about an hour and then they went away.

Thanks guys. Makes me feel better. All day today was really worried as I had the craming on and off in the left side only. I reda somewhere that that is bad signs? Does yours sometimje concentrate must on one side? Mine is not constent but just feel like one ovary is enlarged.

weird. Can't wait for my first scan to see that all is ok position wise. When is your first scan?

I'm 5 weeks and 6 days preg. today.  I had cramping but with in the past couple of days it's pretty much tapered off....I'm a little concerned b/c it stopped.  It is perfectly normal to have cramping though...

I had cramping from about 6 dpo up until about 10 weeks pregnant. I am 11 weeks now and it has gone down a lot!! Now I just get the round ligament pains. But they say that the cramping is worse with your first child. It will get better though.

I'm just starting my 5th week and I've got cramping as well.  Like Lexima, they are worse at night.  I've woken up a few times with a gasp while sleeping because of a sharp, hard pain in one side, but if I shift around, it goes away.  I'm guessing my poor little left ovary is swollen up from all the drugs and hormones and perhaps when I lay funny, it gets smooshed against something.

The pains feel like AF cramps, but can get pretty intense sometimes!  I had those with my first child the entire pregnancy.

Hi, I'm about 5 weeks as well through IUI and feeling exactly same way.  AF type cramps that got lighter over the last week.  Cramping seems to be worse at night than during the day.  My first u/s is on March 5th.  I'm hoping that everything is fine.

Good Luck

Cramping in early pregnancy is very common. Later it turns into a different kind of pain that is called round ligament pain. Prenatal vitamins are notorious for constipation. Be sure to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day and eat plenty of fruits and veggies.
