cycle after salpingectomy for ectopic pregnancy

cycle after salpingectomy for ectopic pregnancy

I was pregnant for about 7 weeks when I had what appeared to be spotting. My ectopic pregnancy wasn't caught until 8 weeks when I had my first ultrasound. I had a laproscopic salpingectomy on September 14 and started my period after the surgery. It has now been 6 and a half weeks since the first day of my last period and I haven't had another since then. I was wondering if this is normal and if it is ok. Does this mean I am going to have problems conceiving in the future?

First of all, I'm so sorry to hear about your ectopic pregnancy. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with a laporoscopic salpingectomy...but I do know that it can take a while for your body to get back to normal after a pregnancy loss. You won't ovulate again until your HCG levels are back down to under 5...which can take a while....and you won't get your period again until about 14 days after you ovulate. Hope that makes sense.
