hi heather thanks for the info i went for another scan this morn and it turns out the 32mm is fluid and the 19.5 is a cyst but there is a 17.5 follie they said the cyst is not going to cause a problem with my iui that it is probably a left over follie from last time did not rupture so i'm wandering did the trigger shot from last time not work because there was only one follie then
I'm surprised they don't do a CD3 sonogram every month when you're on meds. It's fairly common to get cysts when on injectables (even on clomid or femara). I would just see how things look on Monday then and take it from there. If it is a cyst, hopefully it won't grow too much, so you can still continue with the IUI. But I would definitely ask for a CD3 sonogram from now on. I honestly thought all REs did CD3 sonograms before starting a new cycle.
I'm sorry about all the added stress. But if it makes you feel any better, I had a 40mm cyst after my first injectable cycle. That was on CD3, and by CD12 it had shrunk to less than 15 (no meds that cycle, though). And by my next CD3 sonogram, it was completely gone.
Take care, pyar, and best of luck tomorrow!
thank you for your replies Heather5 no i didn't have a cd3 scan i think because its my 3rd consecutive cycle they are going by my cd3 scan i had on my very 1st iui i'm just confused as to why they would want me to continue with meds whens they can make the cyst larger its just like taking 2 steps forward and being pushed back a mile
Did they not see anything on your CD3 sonogram? If it's a cyst, they would usually see it before you start the meds.
From what I've understood, a cyst will not prevent you from becoming pregnant, so I don't think it will have an effect of the IUI itself, but normally they don't do meds when there's a cyst, to prevent it from getting larger.
If it is a follicle, then it is a bit big...but I'm honestly not sure how that affects the egg inside. Either way, I don't think it will affect the other (19.5) follicle.
So I would just go with what your RE is saying...after all, he or she's the expert ;-)
Best of luck!
Not sure if this will help you but this cycle I started with a cyst however the size did allow me to start meds on 3rd day. Today was cd7 and I went this morning for my first u/s. Well they too saw 2 big things...she said I had follie 18.5 and not sure if the other one was a follie or the cyst. She had to consult with the RE who advise me to stop the meds but to take trigger tonight and then my IUI will be Monday. I guess what matters with the IUI is that the mature follies release an egg and if they still kept you on your meds its probably a good thing. Good Luck!
