a couple more things to note is that I think PCOS and hypothyroidism are linked (but I don't know exactly how) so it wouldn't be a bad idea to get it checked out. Miscarriage risk is also increased in PCOS. I think getting a diagnosis from a reproductive endocrinologist is best in these situations. Even my OB never mentioned PCOS even with the irregular periods I've had since a teen and trouble getting pregnant. I think an OB sees cysts and just assumes they are OK.
Thanks so much for your advice, sorry to hear you have PCOS and wish you luck for future pregnancies x
it's my understanding that if you have PCOS than your periods are irregular. otherwise, it's normal for your ovary to produce multiple cysts and then eventually one pops & you o.
Sorry...this doesn't sound hopeful
to be diagnosed you must have 2 of the following three: u/s evidence of cysts on ovaries, history of irregular periods or hirsutism (hairiness). I have PCOS and I had cysts on both ovaries along with irregular periods. Every woman will get 4-5 follicles (cysts) on their ovaries every month which contain the eggs. In PCOS you will have like 15, not 4-5.
