does clomid effect your eyesight?

This is my 7th cycle using clomid, took it for 6mths last yr,had a 4mth break from it n started again this cycle. When I've used it in the past I haven't had headaches with it,but this time I have had bad headaches, blurred vision and tired, sore eyes, I may get an eye test at the opticians soon, I have read in the leaflet enclosed with my tablets that it can affect eye sight sometimes, has anyone had similar probs? clomidkid x

I took ,Clomid, 100mg,  last month for the first time. I seemed to be fine, just a slight headache here and there.  Since the Clomid seemed to go so well for me, my doctor prescribed 150 mg of Clomid (for 5 days). This time, on the second day, I got some "tracers", or lines of light coming from my periphery vision! It was one of the scariest things that has ever happened to me. It lasted for about 15minutes.  I called the dr. The next day and he said it was normal. I'm taking 100mg. for the remainder of the days. I'm fine today, no tracers.  My sister had the same issue on Clomid several years ago.  From what we can tell, tracers seemed to be sparked by changes in light...(like very going from a dark room to a very bright one). I'm a little nervous about taking Clomid next month. I think I might stick to 100 mg. Thanks for all the posts. They helped me so much when I was trying to understand what was happening to me!

Yes, anything hormone-related can affect your vision.

Wow I;m sorry to hear that guys, I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I am on day 3 (cylcle days 2-6) of my first cycle of clomid. I have had absolutely no side effects so far.

I had the worst side effects with Clomid. Since I have always been extremely sensitive to medication, the doctor should not have prescribed 100mg of Clomid each day, that almost killed me!

Beside all of the side effects in the books, I had a very dark solid circle in front of my eyes every morning when I woke up. After 3 days of 100mg, the dark circle was huge and blocked my left eye. I feared that I might be blind so I called the doctor, she asked me to stop taking it right away.

It got better each day until I did Ovidrel shot several days ago. The nurse promised that Ovidrel would not cause any vision problem (although Clomid did). The dark solid circle has come back since the trigger shot, probably Ovidrel, either activated the clomid still in my system, or contained the substanace similar to Clomid that caused the vision problem.

I do not want to see a eye doctor, because they will not know what to do with Clomid which is the cause of the problem. They may prescribe some medication. However, that may worsen the eye problem, because not every doctor knows what he/she is doing.

My advice is to wait until Clomid wears out in the system, and chances are this nightmare will be over soon.

Good luck x x x x

When I take Clomid I get really dry eyes that itch, almost like allergy problems, and a bad headache.

I had blurred/double vision most of the cycles I took it. It went away a week or so after the last pill. The hot flashes were even worse than the vision issue for me.

i have also heard that clomid messes with your eyes and if it does then your supposed to contact your doc ASAP. when i took clomid(only one cycle) i got every side effect in the book and then some,i also hyperstimulated my ovaries to the point of them having to drain the fluid.the doctor said that clomid doesnt agree with some and that if anyone gets any ill side effect other then the usual headache, moody,,they should not take it.i think trying for 7 cycles is way to long,,try something else,i am now using soy ,i take it just like i would clomid, days 3-7..last month was my first time trying it and boy did it help to feel the ovulation pains, without any side effects..

I have heard that it can cause blurred vision!! I took femara this cycle and I had sore eyes too! kind of like when you get the flu but not as bad!  and a little bit more blurred vision. Also whenever I get headaches my vision gets more blurry, so it might all have to do with the headache too! : )
