I am 38 yrs old and was just diagnosed as having stage of early menopause I am seeing the fertilitist had blood and sonograms, my insurance plan will not cover donnor eggs which I understand but they wont cover the ivf surgery because they dont consider my diagnosis infertility
Insurances don't cover ANYthing that has to do with fertility, which is absolutely CRAZY and FRUSTRATING to me!! The one thing our body SHOULD be able to do as women and when it CAN'T do it, they won't do anything about it. I know this post probably isn't helpful to you, but I just want you to know that I understand and empathize!! Lots of love and hugs!
" or anything related to conceiving. I would appeal it. All insurance companies have an appeals process. All they can do is say no right? I was also diagnosed at first as early menopause. My company was surprisingly willing to pay until i got the other diagnosis of infertility
thank you for responding. my plan covers up 2 $50,000 for anything but donor eggs or a surrogate. I understand the paying for the egg donnor but how can they say that early menopause is not infertility
? If I have no eggs Im infertil right?
I think it's absurd they should at least pay for the donnor egg being implanted that's the way I feel or am i nuts?
you to do more research about your condition online. I'm 38 years old as well and have been diagnosed with Diminshed Ovarian reserve. I ovulate and get periods every 27 days since I've been off Depo provera. My RE will only recommend donor eggs for me, but I spoke with 2 other RE's who suggested IUI and IVF. I'v also done more research because my insurance doesn't cover any of it and its expensive. IVF with Donor egg varies in prices from clinic to clinic, check around. Also read Dr. Randine Lewis' book "The Infertility Cure" to me that book is the bible for any woman trying to conceive. It's given me a lot of hope which is not something I've gotten from any RE.
