estrace

Has anyone here been prescribed estrace oral - but to use it intravaginally?  This is my first round using estrace (before I used the Vivelle patch), and I was just curious if anyone had any side effects of using this medicine this way? My dr assured me it is fine, but I'm still curious!  I start estrace on Tuesday night...

I use it both ways (at the same time)  and have had no side effects at all. Just make sure you insert it as far as possible so that it doesn't fall out. : )

I used mine orally.. after fibroid surgery.. then last 2 weeks of it used progesterone for 14 days with it.. She never told me to use it vaginally... My period was a big one after it.. whew!! Motrin, Motrin, Motrin!!!

What are you doing to conceive?  IUI,IVF?  When is your date?  Yeah, that little pill can be tricky... that's for sure! ha ha!

I used it this month and the only side effect I had was bloating! It was not very comforatble... Though... and I know this is TMI.... sometimes when I went to the bathroom, my tp was a greenish blue from the pill. And I know I inserted it far enough, because as most of you know my lining jumped from 6 to 14.5.

I know exactly what you mean - last night was my first night using it and this morning when I went to the bathroom the same thing happened to me - there's no way I didn't have it in far enough! lol

I have another question though - sorry if this is tmi - but....  So, I insert the estrace at bedtime - but when we have intercourse, it is typically at bed time, how exactly does that work?!?  Do you ever feel dumb asking these kinds of questions!?!

So you have to remember that it is a hormone, and not something you want to share with DH- if you know what I mean. There are two solutions- one, insert it in the morning so that it disolves and serves it purpose throughout the day and then try to clean yourself and I say try because it seems that blue-green colored dc is almost impossible to get to disappear, or a much simpler solution is to for you and hubby to have your fun a little earlier in the evening, and insert a little while after intercourse. And then just make sure your hubby knows once its in the kitchen is closed so to speak! haha... Baby dust your way! Hope that lining thickens up!
