femera vs clomid

Hi, I am new here. I have an appointment in a week to talk about fertility options. I was reading some of the posts and you have all pretty well scared me off clomid because I already get migraines and I can't imagine taking a medication that might make them even worse. What about femera? Is it better? Are there other options?

I had just a few minor headaches, mood swings and no CM with the Clomid.  On Femera, I don't recall noticing anything out of the ordinary, but I only took it one cyle.

Femera works on different hormones than Clomid does.  It also has a shorter half-life so it leaves your body quicker.  Some RE's perfer it because it doesn't cause you CM to dry up or thin your uterine lining like Clomid is prone to do.

Hi there-welcome!  I took clomid for 2 months-didn't work too well for me.  I am undergoing IUI and only had 1 egg each cycle.  my RE swiched my to femara and I had 5 one cyle and 3 the last cycle.  My lining is very thin and I guess clomid natrually thins the endometrial lining, which I didnt know.  Besides that, I had 0 side effects with femara-no hot flashes, no headaches and no emotional outbusts which my DH was thankful for.  :)  Hope this helps and good luck to you!!
