fertility

does any one no how much it cost to have surgery if both fallopian tubes are blocked

hi,i had thesame problem and went in for laparoscopy.unfortunately the damage was too much and i had one tube removed and the other clean.it still didn't do the magic,so now i'm getting ready for my first ivf cycle.usually ur insurance covers all expenses and u only pay ur copay.i paid 15dollars with kaiser.good luck

Both my tubes are blocked.  You can do something called a laparoscopy & hysteroscopy to see if your doctor can try to clean them out.  I had this done but unfortunately the damage was too much.  My insurance ended up covering that.  I did have to get both tubes "clamped" so that when dh and I did our ivf cycle the embryo wouldn't get caught in the tube.  This cost $8000 and we had to pay for that out of pocket.  I used to have exruciating pain until they blocked my tubes, among other many problems.  I hope your not in alot of pain.  Good luck to you!
