follicles

Posted this on an earlier "dead post" with no response.  Hi all!  Just had my first iui today and experiencing slight cramping.  It was also a clomid & hcg try.  My Dh & I have been ttc 4 yrs & have not even been preg once. I had 3 good sized follicles on my left with a total of 7 and also 3 good sized ones on the right with a total of 10(variable sizes) .  My question is kinda stupid I guess, but with having the hcg shot, does that only trigger one side to release an egg(s) or both?  Thanks for any input.

The trigger help to release all of the mature eggs.

I'm sorry I don't really know the answers to your questions, but I feel for you-four years.  I hope the IUI works for you.  

I'm pretty sure the trigger releases all of the eggs, by the way.  I've had three.

the trigger releases all the mature eggs and the rest of the follicles collapse is my  understanding. Thats a really good response on IUI so i hope your BFP is not too far away. Good luck with the horrible two  week wait.
