getting pregnant with one tube

getting pregnant with one tube

hello everyone in the forum,i'm just so happy i've found a place where i can openly talk about my concerns and share views and experiences.
i'm 26yrs and i've been trying to get preg since 3yrs.last year[oct] i was diagnose with fluid in the tubes.i did a laporoscopy which resulted in the removal of my rt tube.my obg doc told me i will be preg within 6months.it's been over a year and nother yet.i just had a heterosalpinogram which proved that my left tube is still open.the problem is i just changed insurance and will not be ble to see my obg.i'm thinking should i just go see a doc and get a prescription for clomid or what?my hubby had a sperm analysis and all looks good.does taking clomide increase my chances of getting preg?pls give some add if your out there and have been through this or having same prob
  thanx

i only have one tube also and started clomid last month and was excited but when i didnt get pregnant, I started to wonder if my only tube had healed properly from when i have surgery in June.  I had a HSG on friday and found out that it was still blocked so I will be going for IVF in January, but based on what I''ve read and a lot of the posts on here clomids works.  It helps with tine increase of eggs.

I only have one tube (lefty) also.  Even before I lost my tube I was not able to get pg on my own and they were both open.  We had all the tests done and everything was showing good so it was diagnosed as unexplained infertility.  Due to the infertility we started doing IUI (insemination).  I got pg the first time but it turned out being ectopic. That is how I lost my right tube. After that I had another IUI but it didn't work. The mature follice was on the side without the tube, so the chances were really low.  After that we did another IUI, and I am now 22wks pg.

My advice to you is to see a fertility specialists.  You could probably find a ob/gyn that is willing to prescribe you clomid but it isn't a magic pill and if you aren't monitored correctly it can do more harm than good. You can also waist a lot of time taking clomid when you really needed something else.  Best of luck to you..  I wish you the very best.
