hcg drop

hi, i had a potive preg test 24/08, my hcg level was 65, hcg level dropped to 54.7 on 26/08 and am now waiting for 3rd test on 01/09. I have swollen/sore breasts, have a stange taste in my mouth and my emotions are ALL over the place which is very unlike me! My Ob thinks that a miscarriage is likely (due to drop in hcg).
my ivf clinic thinks the above results are inconclusive and have asked me to retest - hence going back 01/09!! I hope and pray my hcg level has gone up significantly/enought and that my pregnancy results in a beautiful baby!  
has anyone out there had similar results - what was the outcome ?

Good Morning Breda.... 3 yrs ago on the 1st try I got pregnant with IUI. My hormones were low to begin with the the doc told me from the jump dont expect this pregnancy to last. Went to the dr... hormones went up.... went again a few days later.. hormones went back down.... going to Cali to celebrate (even though the chances were not good, I still had faith.) and got into a near fatal car accident.... went to the dr... hormones went up.... then the plunged.... I lose my Angel/Angels. But.... now... I have heard stories where the hormones were low and people still gave birth to perfect children. It is possible. Some women.. it just takes the body a little longer to show the hormones. I was not so lucky, but I wish you the best!

Hi.I'm sorry for your levels and i know your feelings right now.I have been there many times, unfortunately for me once the hcg started dropping was a bad sign but i hope is not the case for you.But you should know that the hcg is never meant to drop but double.You have a chance that if the level has rise maybe your pregnancy will be good but you have a difficult time ahead of you. I have an apointment with my dr 2moro for my 3rd b test to check my hcg level and have resigned to receiving bad news tomorrow - as I stupidly took a another urine preg test this afternoon as the suspense was killing me and the test was NEGATIVE!!!  Therefore am assuming my hcg level will most definitely have dropped to zero. I will most definitely try again

i have had another blood test today and was expecting the Ob to call with the results but i did not hear from him and am going out of my mind wondering why he did not call - was it bcos its bad news or good news... Anyone else had a similar experience ? Pls help
