hcg levels

I hv had 3 pregnancies , first was miscarriage , from 2 nd i had my son and the third also resulted in a miscarriage. When i was pregnant with my son (2004 ) , my doctor( in India ) hd done an HCG level test .. it was low ..my doc put me on Progestrone and Profasi injections (HCG )..i repeated the test after 48 hrs and the levels had risen..she continued the Progestrone and Profasi injections till 12th week...i had my perfectly healthy son.
We moved to US last year, i got pregnant in June and it resulted in a miscarriage ( 8 weeks gestation ).. i had told my gyn about the treatment i had received in India.. but she said that Profasi injections are not given here.i just wanted to know the treatment that is given for ladies with low HCG levels and whether i should consult with a fertility specialist before trying again.

w/ fertility treatments (IVF) the docs have you on progesterone (shot/suppositories or both) plus aspirin,  from before transfer (implantation) to ensure that hcg levels stay where they should be, and these precautions don't hurt in any way. you should have your prog levels ckd at the beginning of preg and monitor them. this is an easy fix if ckd and monitored to save having a mscarriage (if that is the prob). good luck...
