My husband has had two semen analysis so far. We're still waiting for the results of the second, but the first test showed low morphology (6% when >14% is normal according to our dr) We're hoping that the second test will come back better, but I was wondering if there is anything we can do to help improve morphology.
My husband has low morphology also and they told us there is really nothing we can do to improve it. They don't really know much about what causes it but they said they think that it maybe environmental.
What sorts of treatments are they doing for you to help you get pregnant? We've been trying for a year now. My dr. said that if this one came back low that she's sending us to a specialist, and she said she thinks they'll recommend IVF. Did your dr. do anything different?
, and a lot of doctors seem to agree. My RE has been practicing for almost 20 years, and he said that he has NEVER seen a man come close to 14% normal morphology using the strict krueger method. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it.
My doctor did IVF for us. We didn't just have male factor but I also have PCOS. I am currently 22 wks pregnant after the first FET so it can definitely be done.
My DH has a low count, low morphology and low motility. I put him on Geritol Complete, 1000 mg of vitamin c and zinc and with our first 2 IUIs DHs motility was almost 90%. I'm not sure what the morphology was though. I would have DH start taking some vitamins. Hopefully you can at least do an IUI before moving on the IVF. GL
Hello! my dh has very low morphology as well 2%!!!! we did 3 SA's over time and they all showed the same 2%.. i have a lot of issues as well, his urologist told us that IVF with ICSI was the only way.. however my RE disagreed.. we got pregnant several times (had miscarriages
are now 10 weeks pregnant all natural! the old fashion way! with all my issues and his 2% morph.. my obgyn said that she has seen people get preg naturally with 0% normal morphology.. .. i did have my husband take 1000mg of vitamin C in addition to his multivitamin, they say it can't help, but it sure didn't hurt! GOOD LUCK and its defintely possible! : )
I've heard zinc and vitamin c can help. My husband's count was a bit low and we just did IVF with ICSI - which bypasses the problem completely. I am 5dp3dt so the embryos
I am so happy to hear you guys are pregnant. You gave me some hope. I am actually 12 days post IUI and feeling good. I just found out I have a slightly low thyroid and my husbands count is average about 20 million, low motility 29 percent and morphology Krueger 2%. I was not feeling very good about all of this. But, miracles can happen. I am suppose to test on Easter but I am a bit nervous. How many days post IUI did you get a positive?
miracles can defintely happen thats for sure! : ) my dh had low motility and mediocre count on one of his SA's as well! i got very very faint bfp's on 11dpiui several times, and usually by day 12 they were not "almost imaginary" lines anymore, but (tmi) i would hold my pee for a while and not drink too much water so it wouldnt' be diluted when i tested as well! haha. the things we do! i always swore i would wait to test until 14days piui.. but never had the self control.. also i used the FRER tests, they were very very sensitive! GOOD LUCK! I'm praying for ya !: )
Hi! Thanks for the suggestions. I am 13 days post IUI but i have a headache this morning. My temps are still good 98.4 and last night I was kinda warm 99. Don't know if I am looking into things to much...but i am praying. I am terrified to test and get disappointed. I never thought trying to get pregnant would be so stressful. It makes me so sad
to think we have to go through all these tests to get our little angels...But, at the same time thankful that these procedures exist for us. How are you feeling? Its really nice to have someone to talk to that knows what I am feeling...
YEAAA for a BFP! : ) sending you tons of SSBD and lots of prayers! i know.. so many people cant even imagine the type of stress that comes with having to do so much to create a family that come so easy to so many.. but like you said .. thank goodness for medical advances that help us! : ) keep me updated!!!!
Happy Easter to all...I made it to 15 days post IUI. Went for bloodwork this morning and waiting for results....yikes :) hope it went well. Best wishes to all.
Thanks everyone! I wish my dr. had told us that most men don't hit the 14%! DH's second test came back at 8%, so while they still say its too low, at least it went up! I got DH on multi-vitamins after the first results came back, so maybe that helped! Anyway, they're still referring us to an RE, since its been year now anyway. I'm going to insist on steps being taken before we try IVF, no matter what he says. For one thing, we can get it covered by insurance, but open enrollment isn't until November! Thanks for all your support ladies!
