hmg with iui

Hi all as i told you earlier that am back for good i started another circle today,the last time they gave me hcg with clomid but these time they gave me hmg with the same dosage of clomid but increased my shots to daily meanwhile i have been taking pregcare conception cos it was pescribe by my nures that it helps.pls is there any one out there that hmg helped and how will it enhance my chances.

OK first of all, if you have any questions about the hormones you are putting in your body - you need to CALL YOUR DOCTOR and have them explain it to you.  You have every right to know exactly why they changed things on you, and what those things will do to you.  

Secondly, I'm guessing the HCG was the trigger shot to get you to ovulate.  You will almost certainly get one of those again.  A one time thing just before your IUI.  They would not have given you HCG at any other time, and that is generally what is used to trigger ovulation for the IUI.  

From what information I could find, hMG (human menopausal gonadotropin) is similar to clomid and FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) in that it helps to stimulate the ovaries to produce follicles/eggs.  It actually contains both FSH and LH (luteinizing hormone) - both key to ovulation.  Sometimes it is used in conjunction with clomid for a slightly more aggressive result, in order to stimulate the ovaries more.  Don't be alarmed by the word menopausal in the name - it is because the drug is actually found in the urine of menopausal women and isolated from that.  It sounds icky but it's really not very different from how the other drugs are made as well like HCG.  

If you google "hMG Human Menopausal Gonadotropin" you will find all kinds of info on it.  But I still think the first thing you should do is call your doctor and demand answers.
