Hi I need help!
ttc for 18 months...fsh levels day 3 have been up and down 17.1 then 7.5. This time FSH 3.3 but estogen high (supposedly this can suppress fsh) day 23 progesteron was only 2. today is day 26 and after ultrasound and bloodtest i was told that i did not ovulate and must take provera. i have regular periods 26-28 days.recently 21-25 days with stress about all these levels-the doctor say's that i am late and wants me to take provera as progesterone low and wait about 15 or so days to start letrozole.(10days on provera and then wait until day 3 period)..but i feel like i am going to come on my period anytime so why take provera? the doctor said that i need it as i am late and also because of low progesterone what may seem like a period could only be anovulatory bleeding. i am confused what will provera do that wont happen by me just waiting for the annovulatory bleeding??? will it actually bring on a period and not anovulatory bleeding? and how does that make a difference.? also i dont understand why i did not ovulate?
Yes, provera will bring on a regular period, because it's a progesterone supplement and will trick your body into thinking it ovulated normally. I'm guessing your doctor wants to make sure that you start your next cycle with a normal bleed, so that the femara (letrozole) will be the most effective.
As for why you did not ovulate, it's hard to say. Could be a number of different reasons. But hopefully femara will do the trick for you and bring on a good strong ovulation!
Thanks Heather i guess i just dont want to wait so long to start my first iui and also just read how provera can make you irregular for a few months. but i guess what you said makes sense -to start my cycle with a proper period and not anovulatory bleeding! i hate this wait!
