how long before i can start injectibles for ivf

hello ladies,i'm new to this forum and i really know i can vent out and say anything here cos i;ve been reading posts here and realised there;re p'ple out there to help.
  okay i'm 31 yrs and i've been ttc for 5yrs now.it all came down to ivf treatment due to some unxplained tubal probs.now my qustion is;my re just started me on birth control pills.how long am i going to be on this pills before the actual ivf meds

I'm not really sure what the answer to your question is, but I just wanted to write and say welcome to the forum! have your cycles been irregular? Maybe your RE just wants to regulate your cycle before starting the IVF process. Best of luck to you!

I've gone through IVF twice and both times I was on bc pills at least two months before starting the meds though I know it varies from patient to patient.  Good luck!

Welcome!  I am new to this forum too but its one of the best things I have ever joined.  As for the bc pill, as 40smama said, it really depends on the person and the protocol that your RE has you on.  I was on it for a little over 3 weeks.  Hope this helps!

My Re's office schedules IVF retrivals and transfers for the second week of every month, so my birth control schedule is timed according to that.  It's never been longer than 3 weeks though.  You will be on birth control, and then be checked via ultrasound and blood work to see if everything is ok before you to start injections.

I never take birth control pills.  My RE mentioned once, then said forget about it because i'm very on time on AF.  One week after ovulated day which is 2/10/08, I started Lupron shoots still now.  I'm about to start IVF's stimutalion shoots 2/23/08.  My egg retrieve day will be 3/4/08

thank you all for your imput.i wonder why she had to place me on bc pills when she knows fully well that  af is always on time.i have a 28day cycle and have never missed a day since i started my period at 18yrs.well i hope it's for my own good.i just took the third pill and the journey seems soooo long.hope i get there.what do you all think about accupunctures
