should be decided based on your age and how many times you have tried IVF previously. If you are under 35 and have never tried IVF before, they suggest 2. It also may be determined by what your provider will transfer. I have read that many states will not allow more than 2 embryos
Thanks!
I am 35 (closer to 36) and this will be our first transfer. We would really like one baby but 2 would be a blessing as well. This will be our first child as well.
each time. Because of my age he said it would be risky to put more. I was 29 ar the time. (now 30) Now I am doing my 3rd IVF. Tommorow is my ER. My doctor is considering 3 this time.
I think your RE should advise on how many embryos to transfer, probably 2 or 3.
Thanks everyone. I think 2 would be a good choice as well. One will be terribly depressing if it doesn't work out. I think for my first time 3 is too risky.
My DH agrees (thank g-d). I have been reading your entries to my question ALOUD to him. THANKS!!!!!!

I was 32 when we did IVF. My RE transferred 2 embryos (the RE said he only transfers 2 if they are excellent quality - otherwise 3). I was pregnant with twins, but lost one at 6 weeks (before seeing the heartbeat). I bled like crazy (with clots), sorry if tmi. I was sure that I had lost both... But, Praise God, my little DD is a stinker (just like me) and clung on for dear life! She will be 11 months old tomorrow!
We tried a FET earlier this year. The RE said the embryos looked excellent, he transferred 3. Normally he said he would transfer 2, but all 3 were frozen in the same "straw". Unfortunately, none took.
I tranferred 3 embryos on Tuesday afternoon.....They were all high quality and were implanted on day 5 after retrieval........Today(Friday) i did a home pregnancy test(I KNOW...I WAS NOT SUPPOSED TOO BUT THE WAIT IS KILLING ME!!!!!!!) the test came back negative just as the nurse called that all my hormone level was "supposed to be excellent" Is it just too soon? I did just had my 40th birthday and know the chances are slim of conceiving a child this late(i did have my first child 19 years ago and had no problems @ all . Anybody any advice?
