how safe is a tubal reversal?

I made a mistake of getting my tubes tied when I was younger.  I now would like to have my tubes reversed but are there any drs that would do the procedure?

Yes they will do the procedure. I had mine done in Mexico because it was much cheaper then in the US and im a nurse so I did my research. I had mine reversed at age 39 in 2004 and got pregnant 4 months later and have a 2 1/2 yr old girl and trying now to have another child. I paid only 2,000 for the reversal and it was very much worth it and was at a very nice clean hospital.  Do your research and look around before getting it done.

I'm in Toronto Canada and I got mine done by the gynecologist that tied them in the first place. I paid $3,500 5 years ago. I won't lie to you the recovery part is painful but it doesn't last long. Pain killers and stool softners did the job. I slept in my living room on a mattress because it was difficult to climb the stairs because of the incision. Like I said you do get through it.

It will be 5 years in May and unfortunately I haven't gotten pregnant yet but I also have fibroids and I am 40 years old now. I have  heard positive stories from other women who have done the procedure. Do your research and follow your heart.

Please dont have your tubal reversal done in Mexico by this doctor. If you research the website there a lot of women who have a high rate tubal pregnancies because this doctor does not use the start of the art precision instruments that we have in the states. Your also putting your life at risk by going down there. Look at all the violence on TV. Do you really want to risk your life and the life of one of your family members. Their website will tell you how safe it is just because they want you to spend your money there. Dont do it. Dont risk it. You only have one shot of restoring your fertility.

The tubal pregnancies have nothing to do with Dr. Perez.  The tubal pregnancies are a direct result of the tubal procedure.  Any doctor that performs these has the same statistics that are present within this group.  The only difference from what I can see is that Dr. Perez has a higher rate of pregnancy after the reversal than most other doctors.

I had a reversal by Dr. Perez several years (8 years) ago but was originally going to go to a clinic in the US.  I was told that my chances of conceiving (by the clinic in the US were less than 5%) after speaking with everyone in Rio Bravo I was convinced that no one can really know what my chances would be so I went and had the surgery.  I became pregnant right away but miscarried.  I had several miscarriages after that but found out after genetic testing that it had NOTHING to do with Dr. Perez or the surgery.  I miscarried because of my DH.  Things have changed since the original surgery and I am remarried and just gave birth to a beautiful little girl so.... don't bash Dr. Perez without doing your research fully.  Tubals can happen NO MATTER where you go for surgery.  I guess I should note that one of the miscarriages I had was a tubal and I lost my tube and ovary so the fact that I was able to get pregnant again was a miracle in and of itself but my doctor checked during this procedure and said that Dr. Perez did an EXCELLENT job!

My sister had a tubal reversal in the US after having her tubes tied for 12 years.  She had the surgery when she was 35 years old and after 3 miscarriages, she finally gave birth to a beautiful baby girl when she was 36.  I think it's safe..just do research on your doctor!!!  Good luck!

I also want to go to Mexico to get mt Tubes reversed but Im also afraid and dont want to do the surgery alone.. I have a friend that went to Mexico as well and she did just fine and is currently pregnant.. Maybe we can meet up over there and give each other some support.
