hsg and shg

Hey I'm new to this I just have one question. My RE has me set up to do the shg then the hsg all in the same day. Has anyone ever done both in the same day? And should one be done before the other?

I'm not sure why your dr has you doing both.  The HSG will show uterine and fallopian issues where as the SHG will show uterine only.   To me it sounds like a waste.  Mine have always only wanted the HSG since it does show both where they can evaluate and check both for any problems.

That's why I'm confused on why she wants to do both. I asked her and she said she wants to check the tubes and the uterus to make sure everything is working right. Because me and my husband have been trying for over 2 years now.

That is just weird because the HSG will do both.  Not sure but I am sure she has her plans on why she wants both.  Maybe the SHG will show her something about the uterus that the HSG won't.  I've only had the HSG done 4 times and my RE has never requested the SHG done.

I have a question four you, did the HSG hurt? I just had the SHG and it didn't hurt at all. Oh and I asked her why she wants both, she said to see the insides of the uterus. And to make sure there are no cysts or anything.
