hyperstimulation from follistim

Has anyone had hyperstimulation from follistim?  Were you ovaries really painful?  How long did it last and did anything relieve the pain.  This is horrible

True OHSS is actually rare and typically require hospital care, but think your ovaries always get "hyperstimulated" when you take Follistim.  And, yes, I took one round of Follistim and within a few days, I exploded with about 30 follicles on each side. My ovaries looked like two bunches of grapes!  I was in so much pain after I ovulated, and then I bloated up like a whale.

I did get my BFP, but because of that, they hyperstimulation got worse and I'm cramping really badly still. I have grapefruit sized ovaries right now, but I'm not actually in "severe" mode where I would need to be hospitalized or anything.  It's pretty horrid!

For the pain, my doctor actually had me take vicodin the day I ovulated.  He just wanted me to lay off the medications about a week after IUI.  Tylenol might help, and Aleve helps too, but you have to be careful with Aleve if you're trying to get pregnant.  That's not good for baby.

Oh yes! With my first cycle my E2 numbers shot passed 7000.I was on follistim and menopur. I was so uncomfortable. My RE told me that I had "kissing ovaries". They were HUGE!
I had to coast for three days before they took the eggs but oh my...I was uncomfortable for a while. RE did warn that if I did become pregnant after the ET, the symptoms would worsen but they would monitor me. Unfortunately, I did not become pregnant BUT I can totally relate to the discomfort.  Hope you are feeling better soon.

How long did you stay bloated / huge?  My ovaries are 5X the size and my doctor also said they were kissing ovaries.  I am not in too much pain just a huge stomach.  My doctor did my hcg test today however I don't think I will get the BFP.  I was on repronex and the ovudrel shot.  Any information on how long before the size went down would be great.  Thanks
